A sleepy monkey is now complete on the new design. He is accompanied by a few other jungle creatures that are coming to life on fabric. I have used Derwent pencils to colour him and a deep grey DMC thread for the outline.
Today I attended my new weekly painting and drawing class in town. I met a diverse group of artists and enjoyed myself thoroughly.
I did a few studies of a hibiscus in a fresh, artist journal pad and I translated the designs a couple of times into flower shapes for stitching.
This is one of them. We are free to work with a chosen medium and relate it to our interests. The group has a handful of inspirational regulars and they were so supportive and friendly.
I am going to draw in my journal everyday...well that's the plan!
